Beach House: Beach House
Beach House s/t debut, originally released in 2006, felt like a personal secret. With zero expectations, strategy, or plans of the future, Alex Scally and Victoria Legrand laid nine tracks to tape over a short span in Baltimore City. The outcome was something extremely intimate and real.
Ponytail: Do Whatever You Want All The Time
Two years after the beloved LP Ice Scream Spiritual, PONYTAIL return with DO WHATEVER YOU WANT ALL THE TIME, the album named after some free-association-banter Molly slang during last summer’s Baltimore Music Festival Whartscape.
Like Ice Cream Spiritual the energy of Ponytail is still alive and full throttle, but on DO WHATEVER YOU WANT ALL THE TIME there is a more sophisticated and experimental approach of the song. This is complex-intellectual pop. It’s their most phenomenal album thus far, and I’m not just saying that because I funded this hot piece.
Indian Jewelry: Totaled
Woozy, heart-pounding and subject to double-vision, TOTALED is more than a record for people doing poppers. It’s an all-in album, an unsprung clock, and it moves sideways in time. In it is the swamp electro of 2003's We Are The Wild Beast, the nightmare throb of 2005's Invasive Exotics, and the sonic angel dream of 2008's Free Gold. It's a crash course in sound + vision.
The record was written and recorded in 2009 in Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, California by Erika Thrasher and Tex Kerschen. TOTALED is the sum of hundreds of shows on the road, hundreds of hours under headphones, and the countless songs they've already written together. These are songs like iced tongues. Songs for the love hole, mind hole, sink hole, worm hole. This is an encounter with the true and the truly fucked up.
Ponytail: Ice Cream Spiritual
PONYTAIL'S "ICE CREAM SPIRITUAL" is full contact aerobics. Its a hedonistic whirlwind for your ears and body. It is double guitar bliss, a drummer drumming to the edge of his skills, and an unconventional front woman erupting with charisma. "ICE CREAM SPIRITUAL" is the exorcism your stiff loins have been waiting for.
Indian Jewelry: Free Gold!
It may have been a while since you last heard from INDIAN JEWELRY.
In 2006, several members of the INDIAN JEWELRY songwriting and performance team found the bitch of fame licking them on the hand. Blinded by vanity, easy fame, self love, and the internet, they went into an early retirement.
For the last two years they have holed up between a private compound in Humboldt Park, Chicago and a private residence in Houston, Texas. There they put a light to the holes in their shoes and set to work on a perfect vision of the future.
In this time many people have attempted to wear their clothes and walk their dogs. Stop! These dogs can walk themselves.
Keep your ears open for the dulcet thunder. FREE GOLD! is just a key. A key to a perfect vision of the future. This vision is known by many names. Dog Cult. Many-headed persons. Blockhead.
FREE GOLD! was made to show you simple thing. You have the power! It is in your hand and it is within your reach.
You don’t have to walk alone. INDIAN JEWELRY was gone, but now they’re coming back and there’s going to be a bloodbath.

Yeasayer: All Hour Cymbals
Dear Friend of Music,
It would be an untruth if we were to tell you that our hearts weren’t ailing and our ears weren’t sleeping before stumbling across some YEASAYER demos over a year ago. Nibbling at the idea of raising the white flag, we have since then lifted our chins and turned about face.
Over the past year we have somehow managed to keep the music of YEASAYER under lock and key. A recording process that took place in two states, two cities, four buildings, and spanned 11 months, you would think it was a strenuous affair. It wasn’t, it was a pleasure.
The outcome, YEASAYER’S debut release, “ALL HOUR CYMBALS,” is a completely mystifying and magical travel. It would only be a lazy stab to make modern day comparisons. Please, make this an exercise. Pulling from every spectrum and mashing, then re-mashing, the YEASAYER collective have bent genre’s until unrecognizable.
YEASAYER’S components are four, each multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, and chanter. Founded by half of a barbershop quartet, then followed by the rhythm, YEASAYER is a tight brotherhood undisrupted by the external.
Live, the four bring out the boogie, radiating heat waves and rhythms. Songs once laid to tape are constantly restructured and reworked, show to show, for a new experience.
Please take the time to listen to our first release and let us know what you think. If you would like more recordings and gifts please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
